I was born and raised in Mississauga, Canada, but I live in Sydney Australia. This, combined with my Cantonese ethnicity, has given me the honoured titled of Oz-chi-nadian, which, in all honesty, just makes me laugh. Having spent my teenage years convinced that I could not take an office job for the rest of my life, I decided to turn my passion for photography into my career. I graduated in Applied Photography from the Sheridan Institute, Ontario, and spent several of the next years assisting, producing and working my innovative-problem-solving awesomeness in some of Toronto's top commercial studios. By then, that incessant call to explore the world and meet its many amazing peoples was finally too much to bare. Armed with my trusty camera and my only possessions strapped to my back, I embarked on what would total a sixteen month odyssey taking me to such beautiful countries as China, Tibet, India, Nepal, Cambodia, and Vietnam to name just a few. The experiences and lessons learned from these travels have enriched my life in more ways than I could have possibly predicted. Today, I look forward to the new challenges that each photography project brings. Whether it be still life in studio or portraits on the crowded ghats of Varanasi, my experiences and diverse background have given me a unique pool from which to draw inspiration. I tackle every project with my intuitive creative eye, deftly capturing the hidden story in every image. |
